UNSTEADY LIUQUID PROPELLANT CIRCULATIONS IN SPACECRAFT CYLINDRICAL TANK

Abstract


Abstract.The results of the inertial axisymmetric flows simulation of incompressible viscous fluid in a cylindrical tank after a sudden stop of its rotation are presented. There are results of numerical calculation of the Navier-Stokes equations with the appropriate boundary and initial conditions in a wide range of angular velocities, viscosity, and criterion parameters Reynolds, Strouhal, etc.
These streamlines and pressure field can build a picture of the time-dependent circulation in the cylinder’s meridional planes and establish their influence on the azimuthal velocity field structure. The obtained nume rical results differ from the known data over a wide range of modeling and taking into account all nonlinear characteristics of the velocity distribution of the fluid particles.
