Abstract

The effect of preliminary heat treatment on microhardness and wear resistance of 30ХГСА steel after hardening by pulse gas thermocyclic ion nitriding has been analyzed. It has been proven that hardness and wear resistance of 30ХГСА steel after ion nitriding with preliminary heat treatment increase as compared to similar steel after ion nitriding without preliminary heat treatment. It has been concluded that the results obtained could be used in ion nitriding treatment for restoration and strengthening of machinery.
