AXIOMATICS OF THE PHENOMENON OF THE FRICTION AS MAIN METHODOLOGY OF ITS STUDYING

Abstract

Purpose. In a modern tribology for the last some decades were created more than ten independent scientific directions. All this complicates the engineering analysis of a friction process as most the general phenomenon of the nature. Approach. On the basis of the all-round analysis of models of a friction process the general are revealed most. These models are considered as initial axioms of a friction process. The conclusion is drawn on expediency of application of the thermodynamic
analysis of a friction process, as process of elastic-plastic deformation of a solids surface layer. Structural-energy interpretation of process of plastic deformation and friction process is given. The generalized energy equations of friction process are received. The conclusion is drawn on a community of the equations of energy balance of a friction. The equations of energy balance of a friction allow to interpret particular models of a friction. The physical sense of a sliding friction coefficient is considered. It is shown that the friction coefficient is the main and most informative parameter of a friction process. Findings. The thermodynamic analysis of a friction process allows to present it as a basis of an axiomatic method. Such approach possesses property of the general axiomatics of a friction when it is possible to form chains of strict proofs of the separate parties of a friction process. Originality. The analysis of a friction process from positions of the equations of energy balance showed high efficiency at the solution of a wide number of practical tasks.
