Abstract

This article attempts to conduct research that related with the studying of grease flow in conical clearance, providing rotation of the inner cone with predetermined frequency. Moreover, presented decision of the definition of torque in the conical clearance and compared with the similar result of the clearance between rotating coaxial cylinders. The experiments were conducted on a modernized for this purpose rotary viscometer. Glycerin and various types of grease were used as working liquids. The results can solve the problem of hydraulic resistance movement of grease in the conical clearance, which associated with rheological properties of grease environments. In our opinion, this is actual for the consideration of problems for a number of grease units, especially in considering features of hydrodynamics in the slotted conical clearances, where is the fundamental importance of the friction force between the rotating surfaces.
