Purpose. Development of new approaches to the synthesis of cutting tooling for machining of parts with a significant number of the holes.
Design/methodology/approach. Synthesis of the set of cutting tooling for machining of holes based on formalized description of elementary machined surfaces and cutting tools by logical rules. Description of machined surfaces based on the classification of elementary surfaces following main classification criteria: the type and position of creating curve, type surface, profile geometric thread and other geometric and technologic parameters.
Findings. This allows to synthesize the whole set of cutting tools and analyze them for the most effective machining process, and this will analyze and reduce the cost of manufacture of the product at the stage of technological design.
